I am Not Perfect – Oak Bowl

I am Not Perfect – Oak Bowl | 4" x 14" x 14" | #537

How does he do it? The title indicates that the bowl itself is not perfect and yet in the hands of this master we have something that is perfect for placement wherever you choose. The wood grain is spectacular and the live edge unique; other amazing aspects in turquoise make for total fascination. There is so much going on in this once living piece of wood that can now live on forever thanks to the wonderful treatment it received from the artist. Mark seals every bowl with natural oils rather than harsh chemicals. (20 separate, individual hand rubbed days!) A perfect choice for housing fresh fruit or as a centerpiece on your table or kitchen counter.

Artist's Insights – "The wood for this bowl came from the same tree as "Content at Last" that was blown down during Hurricane Michael. As it dried it too moved and a few cracks developed that I then filled with turquoise and resin, adding a bit of color to the bowl." – Mark Wood

All my bowls and vessels are made from recycled wood. This is wood from a tree that was cut down by a homeowner for safety reasons, by a builder in order to facilitate construction of a new home or was blown down by Mother Nature. This wood would have ended up in the city landfill or someone’s fireplace. Much of my wood I find on the side of the road waiting for the trash pickup.

None of my bowls are perfect because they were made from imperfect wood by imperfect hands however, I make up for their imperfection by adding a little magic to each one. Beyond their beautiful appearance, each of my bowls/vessels has the added benefit of being able to hold your worries and fears. So by placing your worries and fears in your bowl, you are better able to focus on the blessings in life.

I hope you enjoy your bowl as much as I did in making it for you.
